2009 Copenhagen World Outgames 
The next World Outgames will be from 25 July - 2 August, 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Mark your calendar, and join us for 9 absolutely fabulous days of serious sport, serious culture and totally serious FUN.
Copenhagen - In response to many inquiries from winter sports enthusiasts, the World Outgames 2009 is now investigating the possibility of adding ice hockey, figure skating and curling to its sports program.These sports have not been included in the original program for various reasons. Chief among them are seasonality, costs of implementation and a lack of adequate facilities.
"We do want to offer as many sporting events as there is sufficient interest for in the international LGBT community," said Tommy Kristoffersen, sports director for World Outgames 2009. "And if we find it is possible with the available resources to include winter sports, then we will do it."
The final schedule of sporting events at the World Outgames 2009 will be made public in January 2008. In the meantime, we encourage athletes and organizations representing sports not currently on the schedule to contact us about the possibility of competing in 2009.
